Undergraduate Diploma Courses

Undergraduate Diploma in Journalism Course Overview

Our undergraduate diploma/advanced diploma programmes are designed and taught at levels 4, 5 & 6 of the United Kingdom's National Qualifications Framework which is close to the level of a bachelor degree. The framework has been accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and the structure of our undergraduate diploma optimises students' opportunities for progression into final year bachelor degree in the UK or abroad. On successful completion of the first three semesters of the programme, students will be eligible for the interim awards of an undergraduate diploma while those who went ahead to build their work experience portfolio and research project will be awarded the advanced diploma.

Course Objective

The undergraduate diploma/advanced diploma in journalism course aims enhancing student knowledge in journalism. It builds student knowledge in basic reporting and writing in journalistic style. At the end of the course, students will be able to stand their ground as a trained journalist.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for our undergraduate certificate/diploma programme, candidates must have:


1. Advanced Certificate in related disciplines from the School or any other recognised higher educational institutions in the UK or abroad.


2.GCSE A level qualification in related subject from any recognised body in the UK or abroad


3.Ordinary National Certificate/Diploma


4.Other qualifications and work experience may be acceptable at the discretion of the School.


5.Candidates may be subjected to a telephone interview before application decision is taken.


6.Please note that certificates comparability will be done by UK NARIC standard.


Duration:Six months to two years (depending on the time and speed student committed to study)
